Team Building Ideas
*
A few ideas for activities, adventures, initiative challenges, scenarios and logic games.

Activities - adrenalin filled events to inspire and entertain:
*
* * * Open canoeing - good teamwork vehicle.
*
* * * Abseiling - we have a good variety of sites and levels of difficulty.
*
* * * Power boating - it's always popular.
*
* * * Low ropes challenge - quite physical and great fun.
*
* * * Coastal canoe - needs settled, warm weather.
*
* * * Rafting - build a huge raft for the whole team.
*
* * * Orienteering - there's lots of levels of challenge in Cunning Running.
*
*
Ardclinis Outdoor Adventure specialises in adventures with "an angle". Specific learning points can be incorporated.

Here's a series of ideas:
*
* * * Search and rescue exercises can include first aid skills and navigation briefs.
*
* * * Your team can run a stretcher lower. As an exercise, it's best if we weight the stretcher rather than tie in one of the team members!
*
* * * Pioneering - challenging rope work with a purpose like building a structure or making meal by remote control (from outside a certain area).
*
* * * Radio work between two remote areas to convey a message.
*
* * * Ardclinis can programme activities which include simple map or plan making. You could explore and map an area by canoes or other watery transport.
*
* * * Novel transportation - types of A to B journeys which can only be achieved with perseverance.
*
* * * Your team can construct novel transportation.
*
* * * Ardclinis has a number of project ideas where your organisation helps in the community. Let us know the objectives and we'll come up with the project!.
*
*
Initiative Challenges
*
* * * A series of problem solving tasks undertaken in small teams. Learning points are discussed in frontloading sessions and during reviews.
*
* * * For example, block out, hardy annual spider's web, cones, scrambled egg, tent, maze, sheep and shepherd, ski walk, Martians and aliens, cyclops, marble tubes, roller ball and barrel.
*
*
Scenarios
*
* * * Green Adair - a resources game with abseiling and navigation.
*
* * * Golden Egg challenge - a challenging canoe journey and big abseil combines with a spectacular 2 km upland walk.
*
* * * Mystical journey - lots of ways to travel with team challenges such as a ropes course and archery and canoeing and abseiling to complete along the way.
*
* * * Lexihumourographology - active orienteering game with an entertaining auction.
*
* * * Lighthouse / Paddywagon - each of these are communication games, often using radios. These activities can be directed at other teamwork skills. The best part of these, and other resources games, could be called 'GrownUp Creative Play'.
*
*
The Energiser - an indoor action day
*
* * * Ardclinis will programme and deliver active sessions for your conference. Whether it's a break out session to suit a programme that's already agreed, or a block of time that needs a fun result, ask us for ideas and activities.
*
* * * What about a quiz where the questions are earned by each team?
*
* * * We have quizzes divided into topics and with three levels of difficulty.
*
* * * What about some goal oriented games where each team move to huddles, to supporting each other, to all sorts of weird shapes and positions?
*
* * * Ardclinis Outdoor Adventure has activities for all age groups.
*
* * * What about relay events where the teams compete for the answers which are posted up around the room?
*
* * * We don't need a large space to run safe, fun events for your group.
*
* * * Would you like a large scale crossword designed specifically for your organisation?
*
* * * We have lots of ways to break the ice and encourage greater interaction. Your group will be enjoying each other's company and looking forward to the next conference!

Logic games
*
* * * On the whole, these games are less physical than outdoor challenges, but be careful, they are designed to be intellectually demanding.
*
* * * Logic Games include Plato, Nails, Hexagon, Towers of Hanoi, Piecewordtable, Wordcircle, Seven Crates, The Knot and The Red Box.
